Utah's Season Opener

Saga Outerwear does Snowbird Opening Day from Saga outerwear on Vimeo.

Here's a short edit from opening day at Snowbird the guys at Saga Outerwear put together.

Probably the single greatest time of the year for me besides that first drift event in the Spring. A string of early snow fronts has hit Utah in the past weeks pushing opening day up to November 13th. Most resorts have close to a 30" base prime for the first turns of the season.
Brighton opening November 11th, followed by Solitude on the 12th, and Snowbird the 13th.

Park City is set to open next weekend on November 20th.

Excite.

The Time has Come...Winter Build

Setrab Oil Cooler.
2JZ AEM EMS, Jumper Harness, Apex'i Big Power Intercooler 28x9x4.75, 3" ARC EndTanks
AERO !! Finally. Version Select Type II
Ahhh. 2 years later, I get aero. Shoot
SR is Out, Dang that thing is Clean.
Lots of Cleaning. Energy Suspension Steering Rack Bushings...
Time to Party. 1JZ, R154, S-Chassis Mount Kit
I was pretty damn excited to find that AEM EMS. I'm a pretty big nerd when it comes to tuning, so no more screwing around. I will be ordering SS -6AN Lines to transfer all the fuel lines to the driver side frame rail. I will be using an inline filter and a 2nd Walbro 255 in the engine bay feeding the rail. Since, I'm back at school progress will be slow from here until around Thanksgiving. Things will really start to come together during Christmas break.

Oh, and I'll be doing a bunch of routine maintenance to the engine:
- Timing Belt
- A/C Delete Belt
- Water Pump
- R154, Output Seal
- Front and Rear Main Seals
- Belt Tensioner
- Idler Pulley
- Cam Seals
Next parts on the list to order:
- ACT Extreme 6 Puck Clutch, 3200lb. Pressure Plate
- AN Lines for the Fuel System
- 57-1 or 60-1 T3/T4 Hybrid Turbo

Saying GoodBye to a Companion

Monday afternoon, my long time loyal Old English Mastiff companion passed away. April was 11 years old and was the best garage buddy anyone could ask for.

Tongue never seemed to fit in her mouth when she slept xD
April on the Left. Sarge on Right.
Miss you April <3.

Videos for the Day.

One of my favorites. Pretty huge German car fan, even more so GT3 Racing. Incredible.

Last two videos are of a drift car in Japan testing one of the very first modified steering knuckle.

Back to STL/Drift Season 2010

Indy with my Control Freak comrades.
Dan is in the Silver S14, Jarrod in the Green S14.
Dan and I.
Kansas in June.
Midwest Drift Union Round 3.
My friend Mike is good at taking pictures. :)
The trailer was a worthy investment. Made it back to St. Louis after moving back in at school for Midwest Drift Union Round 4. The event was at Gateway International Raceway in St. Louis. My first time ever driving the roadcourse...
I thoroughly enjoyed the all 3rd gear course.

Leave you with a video of my favorite driver, Daigo Saito. Oh, and the video is a taste of what's to come with the S14.

Ski Season/Utah

Skis for the Utah Snow.
Rossignol S3's 186's.
Marker Jester 16 Bindings.
Day 1. November 14, 2009.
We get crazy. One of the many powder days throughout the season.
Alta.
16'' Un-tracked mostly.

Utah is close to California. Well sort of. But, we made it to Formula D Round 1 in April 2010.

Moar Back in teh Day.

At Midnight Madness with my best bud Joe and his Zenki. That car is no longer road worthy.
Joe's car = Manifold/Turbo/Turbo Elbow issues...Always.
Never kept us from fun.

Back in teh Day.

Yep. I had a Mustang. With a lot of parts actually. Always wanted one since I knew what a car was. Sold it to purchase/fund my S14.

Anyways, one Saturday morning I took the ACT test and drove up to Chicago right after to look/possibly purchase the S14. It was rough around the edges. I paid a base price plus some extra cash for coilovers, 5Zigen Wheels, and a hack-job S14 SR Swap.
It had a haggard dash. Pictured is my first purchase for the car a Sparco Lap 5 Steering Wheel. Sweet?
Purchased the car in November 2008. Attended my first event at Midnight Madness in May 2009. Pictured is my first time on track at Kansas Yeah Round 1 May 8th @ Heartland Park Topeka.
Amid some motor issues in May/June 2009, I opted to sell the old S14 SR for a newer motorset. The old one ready to be pulled.
Fresh engine bay with some Stitch Welding.

The new 69F S14 SR20DET from JDMHookup. Added reliability/cooling efficiency parts.
Fixing wiring issues for the Radio/HVAC.
New(er) Dashboard.
The cheep Jeep.
Mid-summer 2009 at Kansas Yeah.
August 2009, I packed up my stuff and headed off to the University of Utah. Didn't know a single person heading out there and really had no idea what I was to study, just wanted to explore and ski.
College makes drifting seasons rather short, however I was able to make it back for an event November 1st at Gateway International Raceway in St. Louis.
Cold as Balls Drift Day. November 1, 2009.
That winter when on breaks from school, a roll cage was built.
New parts. I've wanted these wheels for years. One of the last sets of SBC's made in the RPF1 as Enkei will promote the RPF01.
New coilovers added winter 2009.
Cute.

Here I am.

Hello errybody,
I decided to create a blog to document cars, drifting, car builds, and skiing. Anyways, I'm Alex from St. Louis, Missouri. I'm a 2nd year at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

I'll be updating this with posts about the building and driving of my 1995 Nissan 240sx.

Enjoy,
